Algorithmic management and worker rights: A new frontier in labor law
Authors
Dr. Rama Pande
Abstract
The rise of algorithmic management in
workplaces—particularly in gig economies, warehouses, and remote work
settings—has transformed traditional employment relationships. While these
systems promise efficiency and objectivity, they also raise significant
concerns regarding worker rights, fairness, and accountability. This article
explores the legal and ethical challenges posed by algorithmic management,
examining its impact on labor rights, workplace surveillance, and
discrimination. It further evaluates existing and proposed regulatory
frameworks aimed at protecting workers in an increasingly automated employment
landscape.
