Nanotechnology, the science of the future
Authors
Ioana Stanciu
Abstract
Nanotechnology, defined as the manipulation of matter at the nanoscale, is one of the most promising directions of development of modern science. It combines knowledge from physics, chemistry, biology and engineering, opening up innovative perspectives in fields such as medicine, electronics, energy, agriculture and construction. The application of nanotechnology allows the creation of materials with unique properties, the development of miniaturized and efficient electronic devices, as well as the development of advanced medical therapies, including targeted cancer treatments using nanorobots. At the same time, nanomaterials promise sustainable solutions for energy storage and environmental protection. However, the widespread use of nanotechnology raises ethical and safety issues related to the impact on health and ecosystems. Therefore, nanotechnology is emerging as a “science of the future”, capable of transforming society, but requiring careful regulation and a responsible approach.
